Well those cute little earthquakes from a year ago seem to have entered their ‘chilled’ mode era. 

As terrifying as they were, none of them will create a bigger shockwave than the newly announced trading app from the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX). These shocks will be in the financial sector rather than the outer crust of our dear earth, sincerely.

“ንዋይ” or Neway, loosely translated as ‘wealth or asset’, has just landed on the scene (Well technically on the trading floor). It was commissioned by InfoTech, a veteran Pakistani IT solutions company.

The very inquisitive writers that we are, we decided to download the damn thing and see for ourselves.

At first glance, the UI is not the greatest but it’s not clunky and account set up is a breeze. Just need to verify your email, so look out for that verification code.

Once you’re in, you are on the ‘WatchList’ menu. This is not a page where the top 10 wanted financial criminals are listed, it’s actually where ‘Equities, Bonds and ETFs’ are displayed.
